THE BALLS — In the 30-minute comedy-drama TV pilot, a sports-phobic gay dad must face his longtime insecurities about jocks and athletics when his only son lands a highly coveted spot in a competitive NYC travel soccer league. THE BUNGALOW — The short screenplay focuses on brilliant, four-times-wed REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE director Nicholas Ray and his secret affair with his male writing assistant Gavin Lambert in 1956 while living at the Chateau Marmont.

Journalism / Communications:

From late 2019 to spring 2021, I co-authored and produced an in-depth digital Bloomberg newsletter, delivered Monday-Friday at 8 am, that covered the geopolitical and cultural landscape including Covid, Biden, news, issues, tech, trends and the arts, as part of the Bloomberg Communications team.

Prior to that, I co-wrote a “Mike 2020“ daily digital presidential campaign newsletter from Dec. 2019 to March 2020, featuring ad reveals, event coverage, policy rollouts and Twitter wars with Trump — published seven days a week. I also authored an internal daily briefing for the campaign’s top strategists on news, races and polls, delivered at 5 am seven days a week.

Before joining Bloomberg, I spent 15 years as a writer and editor covering politics, business, lifestyle and entertainment news at Newsweek and Wenner Media.

In addition to discussing news and culture on CNN, MSNBC, “Reliable Sources,“ “Today,”“GMA,“ and “Hardball,“ I have written for New York Magazine, The New York Times, Time Out New York, Details, Entertainment Weekly, Refinery29, Shondaland and more.

Event hosting:

An event moderator and TV presence throughout my career, I hosted this TED-style event during my reunion weekend at Northwestern University in which accomplished alumni shared first-person stories about a “Moment of Decision” that shaped their lives.
